WLANs

WLANs are used for

  • Personal Area Network: a WLAN created by the guest on the portal page will be visible here, this WLAN will be pushed to all networks containing all tags of the WLAN
  • Network managed mode: sync WLANs to all networks which contain all tags of a WLAN
  • WLAN specific portal: show a different portal for a specific SSID
  • 802.1x: create a wireless profile for Apple devices based on the credentials used on the portal and the SSID of the WLAN
  1. Personal Area Network:
    • Configure the connection details of your network so WLANs can be pushed to the AP
    • Enable PAN in the tier
    • Enable the status page of the portal
    • For PMS users: the site tag of the connected network and the room tag containing the room value will be assigned to the WLAN
    • For non-PMS users: all tags of the connected network will be assigned to the WLAN
  2. Managed Mode:
    • Configure the connection details of your network and enable managed mode or choose a managed network in the controller dropdown
    • Make sure your network has all the tags of a WLAN
  3. WLAN Specific Portal:
    • Create a WLAN that contains at least 1 tag of the network
    • Configure the SSID which is used by the AP in the portal redirection
    • Assign at least 1 tag of the WLAN to a portal page
  4. 802.1x:
    • Create a WLAN that contains at least 1 tag of the network
    • Configure the SSID for the wireless profile the client will install
    • Enable 802.1x in the advanced WLAN settings
    • Enable 802.1x in the tier
    • Enable the status page of the portal
